Finally the album is here, it seems to have taken an age but from the very beginning of ‘Technically Alive’ all is forgiven as the guitars kick in before being joined by the drums and Ryan’s infectious vocals. Already an anthem live ‘Technically Alive’ is the perfect album opener with high octane riffs and pounding drums. Leading straight into ‘Godspeed’ with superfast finger work from Joe and Stu the sound of ‘Godspeed’ is massive yet Ryan’s vocals still pierce through and you cant help but want to sing along, air guitar or pick up the nearest set of wooden spoons and bash the shit out of your saucepans.
The first track on the album to have an overall haul from 2006’s ‘This World They’ll Drown’ sound bigger in sound but its when it comes to the chorus where I find the first thing I’m not so sure on when Ryan sings ‘Grasping Clichés, Nothings Changed’ where I still haven’t warmed to the new vocals but don’t get me wrong its still a stellar track worthy of mass sing-along’s wherever they play it. The real gem though has to be the next track ‘Warriors’ surely stating that the band are ready to take over the world with the line ‘I’ll be showing you what we’re capable of…’ and even from these four tracks I have listened to so far Exit Ten are capable of turning the metal world on its head. Slowing the tempo for ‘Perish In The Flames’ Exit Ten prove they can do things subtly but exuding passion and energy this is truly an amazing track showcasing the bands versatility.
Finishing things off with ‘Something To Say’ Exit Ten may have taken an age to get this album recorded and into the shops but wow the wait was worth it, they have got ten solid tracks that will sit alongside any metal record out their and nine times out of ten blow it away. Get ready for Exit Ten to take over your life their that good.
